Things to do after getting off
With the Fishing Village Experience Ticket you received at check-in, you can enjoy one activity: turban shell coloring or bamboo fishing. From the second activity on, each costs 1 coin. You can color the turban shell with markers and take it home in a bag. Bamboo fishing can be enjoyed for up to 20 minutes. Since all the fish are young, we just take pictures and release them back into nature. Please keep an eye on your children so they don't lean too close to the water.
If you do not wish to participate in the activities
You can go up to the office and exchange all your remaining coins for souvenirs or snacks. Alternatively, you can visit our partner cafe and spend all your coins there.
Luggage Storage
Large items that are difficult to load onto the vessel, such as large suitcases, can be safely stored at the on-site office free of charge. Please store your valuables in the lockers provided at the on-site office. Passengers are entirely responsible (100%) for any loss of personal items (such as hats or sunglasses) and any seawater damage to smartphones or cameras during the speedboat tour.
Advance Boarding Declaration & ID Requirements
Please fill out the 'Mobile Boarding Declaration' in advance using the link sent via text, KakaoTalk, or email. Identity verification (name and date of birth) is required for all passengers. Accepted ID documents: Resident registration card, driver's license, mobile ID, passport (for foreigners), or for minors/infants, a family relations certificate or a certified copy of resident registration. A photo or image of the document is also accepted.
Motion Sickness Medication: We recommend taking it 1 hour prior to boarding.
Although medication can be exchanged for Moodol Coins on-site, it is highly recommended to purchase and take it on your way here to allow time for the effects to kick in. Our boat generally causes less motion sickness compared to standard small-to-medium ferries or fishing boats. However, if you are not accustomed to riding boats, we strongly advise taking motion sickness medication just in case.
Meeting Point Address: 14-32 Dongilhamo-ro 98beon-gil
14-32, Dongilhamo-ro 98beon-gil, Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do (Search the address to navigate; free parking is available at the open lot near Dongil-ri Port). Electric vehicle (EV) charging is not available. After parking, please come to the blue panel building to check in.
Boarding Restrictions
Wheelchairs and strollers cannot be loaded onto the vessel (free storage is available at the dock). Passengers must be able to walk at least a little on their own, even with the assistance of others, in order to board. When wave heights exceed 1.5m, it can be dangerous for infants, pregnant women, the elderly, and passengers with spinal conditions. If this applies to you, please contact our on-site office (010-8145-0716) the day before departure to consult on the sea weather conditions and make your final decision regarding boarding.
Are pets allowed on board?
Small to medium-sized dogs under 10kg are allowed as long as they are kept in a pet carrier or kennel and securely held by the owner. Because it is a speedboat, you must hold the carrier firmly at all times in case of unexpected movements or behavior while traveling. Large dogs that do not fit into a carrier are only permitted if you charter the entire boat privately.
Cancellation, Refund, and Bad Weather Policy
Before 17:00 on the day prior to departure: 100% cancellation, refund, or rescheduling is available upon request. After 17:00 on the day prior to departure & on the day of departure: Treated as a same-day cancellation. Rescheduling and refunds are strictly prohibited. (A 100% cancellation fee applies, including for no-shows.) Force Majeure Exceptions: Flight cancellations (screenshots from airline mobile apps are accepted). Or, a 100% refund will be issued upon submitting a medical certificate for illness or injury occurring on the day of or the evening prior to the tour. Tour Cancellations Due to Bad Weather: You will be notified at least 2 hours before departure. (In the event of sudden severe weather, you may be notified right before departure.) If the tour is canceled by the company, a 100% full refund will be provided.
Arrival Time: Arrive at the site at least 30 minutes prior to departure
Example: For a 12:00 departure ➔ You must arrive by 11:30. Due to the nature of the wild protected species' habitat, early departure may be required depending on site conditions. In the event of a delay, we cannot wait out of consideration for other passengers, and boarding will be denied.
Clothing & Footwear: You may get splashed by seawater.
Our boat is an 'adventure boat' that cuts through strong waves, so you may get splashed by seawater. Please avoid wearing expensive clothing or leather items. Passengers are responsible for any seawater damage during the ride. We recommend comfortable sneakers to prevent slipping. (The company is not liable for falls caused by unsuitable footwear.) On rainy days, free raincoats are provided to all passengers. (On clear days, a raincoat costs 1 coin upon individual request.)
How to wear a life jacket
Put the life jacket over your shoulders by slipping your arms through one at a time, just like putting on a backpack. Then, fasten the center safety belt until you hear a click. After putting it on, please adjust the straps on both sides of your waist to fit your body snugly. When moving to board the boat, please hold onto the handrails and move slowly.
Actual boat ride time: 25 minutes to over 1 hour
✔ As informed during the orientation, the observation time per departure is strictly limited to a maximum of 10 minutes to minimize the exposure of protected dolphins to engine noise. ✔ While the observation time is the same for all trips, the total boat ride time may vary depending on the dolphins' location and when they are spotted. ✔ Because the risk of seasickness increases if the ride exceeds 40 minutes, we aim to operate efficiently and complete the tour within 40 minutes whenever possible. ✔ Therefore, if your total boat ride time is on the shorter side, please understand that it means we had a very successful tour observing the dolphins from a close distance.
Binoculars Precautions
✔ On days with waves and swells, looking through binoculars may make you seasick. ✔ If you start to feel seasick, put the binoculars down for a moment and look out at the distant sea — it will soon pass. ✔ If you're worried about seasickness, we recommend taking motion sickness medication in advance. ✔ Motion sickness medication can be purchased at the office for 1 coin.
Binoculars can be rented at the office.
✔ If you need binocular rentals, please let an office staff member know. ✔ Binoculars can be rented for 1 coin each. ✔ For rental guarantee, you must provide one of the following: a card, ID, or car key. ✔ After using the exploration and experience facilities, please return them to the office.
What is the Fishing Village Experience Ticket?
✔ In addition to the boat ride, Healing Tour operates various experience programs, including traditional bamboo fishing, turban shell coloring, making a custom name keyring (coming soon), and plogging (coming soon). ✔ The fee for making a custom name keyring is 3 to 4 experience tickets, while all other experiences require 1 ticket each. ✔ For detailed instructions on using the tickets, please ask the Healing Tour crew at the experience site, and they will gladly assist you.
There are no restrooms on board.
If you step outside the check-in counter and look to your left, you will find a restroom guided by our mascot, 'Moodol'. The restroom is unisex. As we will be moving directly to the dock right after the orientation, please make sure to use the restroom immediately after checking in and wait for further instructions.
Here is today's schedule:
Sequence: Check-in ➔ Ecological Education (7 min) ➔ Move to the Dock (Rainbow Path) ➔ Put on Life Jackets ➔ Boarding & Departure ➔ Dolphin Exploration ➔ Return to Port (Followed by experiences/merchandise exchange) Once check-in is complete and everyone has gathered, a staff member will call the name of the reservation representative. If there are 13 or more passengers for a single departure, the ecological education session will be divided into two groups. If your name is not called, it means you are in the next education group, so please wait a moment.
You have received Moodol Coins!
'Moodol' is the Healing Tour's mascot, which stands for 'Invincible Dolphin'. ✔ Moodol Coins can be used like cash within Dongil-ri Port, and each coin is valued at 2,000 won. ✔ You can use them at various locations, including the merchandise shop, snack bar (snacks and beverages), purchasing additional fishing village experience tickets, exchanging for motion sickness pills, renting binoculars, and partner cafes. ✔ Additional coins can be purchased at the ticket office, and you can receive an extra 10% discount if you buy 5 or more at once.
Does everyone in the group need to attend the ecological education (orientation)?
We provide a brief, 5 to 7-minute summary covering the overall tour itinerary and useful information about the dolphins. This session is designed to give you a deeper understanding of the dolphins, the Jeju ocean, and the exploration environment, going beyond simple observation. We highly recommend that all participants attend to enjoy a much richer experience.
Why this ocean is special
Dolphins travel about 50 to 100 km a day, but they have been observed staying particularly long in the waters off Sindori to forage for food. Based on data accumulated over 10 years, this marine area has been designated as a marine protected area. Usually, anywhere from 2 to as many as 100 dolphins reside in this area.
Dolphins breathe consciously
Because dolphins are mammals, they breathe through lungs, not gills. They can only breathe by opening the "blowhole" on top of their heads above the water surface, so they must consciously control when they breathe. This is known as conscious breathing. For this reason, they engage in "unihemispheric sleep," where one half of the brain rests while the other half stays awake. Unlike humans, they do not have a dedicated time for deep, motionless sleep. Adult dolphins can grow up to 2.7 meters in length and consume up to 15 kg of food per day.
Why doesn't the boat go closer?
This is a legal obligation under the Marine Ecosystem Act, which has been in effect since April 19, 2023. Fines are imposed for any violations. The regulations are as follows: 10 knots or less between 1.5km and 750m, 5 knots or less between 750m and 300m, propeller use must be kept to a minimum and following the dolphins is not allowed between 300m and 50m, and approaching within 50m is strictly prohibited. We approach from the side rather than the front or back. If the dolphins voluntarily come close to the boat, we completely stop the engine to observe them. It is perfectly fine if the boat is stationary, but it is a violation if the boat chases the dolphins.
What is the No-Sighting Compensation Policy?
Due to the nature of wildlife exploration, dolphin sightings cannot be guaranteed. To meet your expectations and ensure you receive full value for your visit, we offer a 'No-Sighting Compensation Policy.' If no dolphins are spotted during the tour, each guest will receive 3 coins as compensation.
A faster ride on the way back
Our boat is a speedboat. On the way back, we intentionally drive faster to give you a more fun ride. It's not too intense, so please enjoy the thrill.
Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins you will meet today
In Korea, they are a coastal resident marine mammal found only in the Jeju ocean. Officially, their population is known to be around 120, but based on our observations at sea, we estimate there are between 150 and 200 individuals. They were designated as a marine protected species by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in 2012. The people of Jeju have affectionately called them "Suaegi" or "Gomsaegi" since ancient times, and it is estimated that they have lived in these waters for about 15,000 years.
Are we guaranteed to see dolphins?
Since this is a tour searching for wild animals, we cannot guarantee sightings. Even if dolphins are around, they might not come to the surface, causing us to pass them by, or they might head out to the open sea and miss us while we are out. However, as this area is adjacent to a marine protected area, pods of dolphins tend to reside here regularly.
Exchanges for the last trip must be completed within 20 minutes
As store closing begins after the last trip, please complete your activities and souvenir exchanges within 20 minutes.
If you have remaining coins
You can use them at our partner cafe, where each coin is valued at 2,000 won. You do not have to use them all today.
